FOR TOMORROW

Quality and innovation
FUN & LEARN
a new concept!

Our commitment is now...

The environment and sustainability have always been part of our company’s culture, we have been innovating over the years, always assuming a commitment to stability with what surrounds us, it’s not enough, it’s not at all enough!

We will be taking the commitment to sustainability, which has always been assumed, to  another and  higher level. We are now embracing a sustainability project with a much broader and deeper level, which will not only  change our way of being completely, but it will also be reflected in the offer of our programs. Now, in addition to FUN, we assume LEARN as an integrated part of our programs.

Within our facilities, we have started a process in order to have a negative ecological footprint, as from the production  of our electricity to100%, to the zero waste program, from the consumption of recyclable and sustainable water, with some alterations  based on local production, also visual changes with educational impact, the free exchange store and the produce of our gardens and chicken coops, among many other experiences in the sustainability aspect.

In addition to the classic programs, exclusively focused on the FUN aspect: climbing, slide, paintball, etc., which will be kept, we now offer new contents, that are more than a novelty, they are a new paradigm.

With these, we assume the commitment to the sustainable development goals, set by the United Nations – 2020 – 2030, a commitment focused on saving the planet. a contract between world leaders and the people of all nations and “a list of things to do on behalf of the people from the whole world and the planet”.

24 years of history...

Campo Aventura is a tourist entertainment company and summer camp, based in Olho Marinho – Óbidos, which for many years  strives to do work of quality and distinction, being currently recognized both nationally and internationally.

It is undoubtedly a family project, which has always been based on a philosophy of values in which the Reis family believes, and which is visible in all the programs and activities it designs, as well as in the way it works.

“Every day we feel the responsibility that parents grant us, and we’re happy about it! As parents too, we are well aware how it is not always easy to choose a place in which we can entrust our children, therefore working with a policy of prevention and excellence, always guaranteeing customer satisfaction.”

C.A. supportive

Campo Aventura’s mission is to provide programs based on experimental trials, through the existing infrastructure, in a safe and attractive environment for EVERYONE.

Based on this assumption, Campo Aventura Júnior Resort offers children and young people the opportunity to enjoy our programs free of charge every year.

Annually we offer an average of €50.000 between school/ institutional programs and summer camps. If you want to apply, send us an email to [email protected], presenting your institution/cause.

ooops, we did it again!

New programmes, a new concept!

Within the AQUA module, we will address water as a whole, including the theme of the Oceans, as it is so close to us.

Water as a source of life is a relatively finite good, not in its quantity, but in its quality and use. We will discuss water cycles, by the rain, by the course of rivers, and by the ocean it self. This module begins at our facilities in Campo Aventura, with the presentation of the theme and a set of questions and doubts that will be important during the course of it. After the presentation, the youngsters  will watch a short video about water in general, and the oceans in particular.

We will be discussing important themes , such as the increase of global warming, and  consequently  the increase of sea level, and the migrations  resulting from it, the  pollution of the oceans, the density of the planet's population , fishing  resources and the controversy of micro plastics , which have already entered our food chain.

After this process, we will go to the aquatic environment: lake, dam, ocean and here we will carry out  educational games on the subject, the collection of waste, and its respective requalification, among other tasks.

This module encourages young people to a “hands on approach”, apart from  the images that are offered to us daily, on TV and the Internet, to question themselves about the use of elements with a high polluting potential.

It is expected that their view on this  subject will become  more critical,  transforming  their practices and routines; potentially each one will be an agent for a change within their family, school, group of friends and so on.

With this module, it is intended that  young people use their own hands to carry out tasks that will have a sequencial end result.

As is well known, manual tasks are increasingly distant from the daily routines of young people, as everything is offered to us as a ready and finished product.

As such we will embrace  tasks that have both sustainability and ancestry, how? Getting our  hands dirty.  Within the BUILT activity, we offer  different tasks so that everyone can work at the same time without getting in each others  way  and without being in the 2nd row watching the first one.

Among Built's multiple tasks, we give the example of a particular one: Building a shelter - we all need a shelter, a house, the evolution of a shelter from an architectural point of view, the design and materials used, which has evolved over thousands of years, culminating in the forms and engineering that we are used to, hence the importance of it.

It is currently common in the engineering and architecture community that the ancestral building works  contained absolutely crucial elements, such as the use of clay, straw and wood having been essential materials for the construction of shelters, without harming the environment and promoting an effective sustainability. It is intended to prove the capabilities of human dexterity, creativity and effort. In addition to these points, we will talk about the insulation capabilities and other characteristics of this construction.

Within the theme of sustainability,  it will always be addressed, simultaneously, and in a way for them to  have a critical view of their surroundings, that constructions using concrete and iron are among the 10 main causes of global warming through the production of cement and iron extraction. The construction of the shelter takes place at the same time as another workshop, which is also extremely relevant. Every youngster, every day, uses paper, but most or almost all of them, have no idea of how its manufactured or transformed, so we will get down to work, producing recycled paper sheets with artistic elements taken from nature.

At the end of the BUILT module, an individual and collective change is expected, through the absolutely unusual use on  their routines, though for many, who are experimenting it for the 1st time,  it is possible to do things, build them and admire them. During the process, questions and doubts will be put forward, allowing them to reach the point of equating what surrounds them.

We hope that this module, by itself, can call for curiosity within the field.

It is probably the most distressing issue facing society, as 90% of the problems related to sustainability come from this: the reconversion of coal and gas power stations, the decarbonization of combustion engines, among others, is the motto for the beginning of this module.

Thus, the problematic issues of this whole situation will be presented in a creative manner, and the viable alternatives for the production of energy in a sustainable way.

Currently we only have to plug in the “plug”, and we know, as a result that the light bulb lites up, that the phone is charged, and the TV is turned on, but we don't know exactly how everything happens beyond that plug. What are the consequences that, that action represents in terms of sustainability. Here, we will be an important resource, asking questions that will have to have an answer, and due to them, we will start the practical work of the module.

In this module, we will work, in a practical way, the production of energy  through Biogas, geothermal, solar photovoltaic system, and others.

As an example, the Sun, the biggest motor in our Universe - we will divide the group and they will work on different tasks with this great motor called SUN, a group will assemble a photovoltaic solar system from start to finish, understanding how the  energy of solar light  is transformed into electricity, the feasibility of using this process, not only on an individually but also in a collective scale.

As a result, young people will be able to charge their mobile phones on the circuit that they will build, this is completely independent from the network, and it may even be possible to inject this energy into the network, and there, in their own homes, when “plugging” in the plug, knowing that  part of that energy can come precisely from their  work.

We will also make, in a basic way, thermal solar panels for the production of hot water,. This way they will understand the entire universe of panels (which are actually the future) that are found on top of the roofs of the houses that are around them.

The main aim of this module is to put into perspective, the different forms of energy and their alternatives, it is to understand in a practical way methods for the production of clean energy, and finally, arouse curiosity and creativity that the theme encompasses.

A module, which is of no more importance than all the others in terms of sustainability, it generates great passions, as it appeals to most  of our senses. Through this module, we will approach sustainability in a very practical and uneventful way that we use daily, from morning to night.

Sustainable agriculture, sustainable animal farming; knowing that animal farming at a global level is also among the 10th largest contributers to the  production of carbon; the home grown vegetables, supermarket shopping for products with huge ecological footprints, deforestation in favor of passive production of unsustainable products. These will be themes for the creative presentation of the FOOD module.

Once again we will address perspectives and doubts, and we will respond with alternatives.

We will always have a practical component, to be developed in a specific space, where we will present the necessary materials and raw materials to be used. Here, the group will be faced with an environment where electricity or gas does not exist, we will thus embrace  a space that is in absolute communion with nature, cooking over fire, using locally produced ingredients.

As a result, we will make a varied and  appealing menu that can easily be repeated in their family environment.

Carbon, the biggest problem! Carbon that already exists and is accumulated, and carbon produced now, until a clean form of energy of up to 100% is found, something that will take many, many years, are therefore a massive challenge for which studies are done to find the best way to capture it.

There are relatively few forms of decarbonization, from highly complex systems that suck carbon from the atmosphere and together with chemical substances manage to retain it, in liquid or solid forms, through its storage in caves that were once natural oil reservoirs, to simply planting a tree .

The theme has generated a lot of research due to the urgency and danger it represents, and is today the one that dominates among the scientific community, in addition to all scientific advances, it is necessary to use the most efficient and regenerative process that nature itself already has: the trees.

Few people know that the wood from trees, both living and dead, hold large reservoirs of stabilized C02, these, like many other questions will be raised in the  presentation of the module. During the second stage, a video will be shown, where it will be possible to watch graphically how nature places C02 in 2 areas, in the wood of the trees and in the soil.

And here, we can connect how agriculture and turning the soil over exposes carbon back into the atmosphere.

At  the third stage, there will be a debate on the topic, and after that, we will have the Carbon game.

As a pratical “hands on” of the module, we will go to the ground/soil and we will see and understand its structure, in a very practical way and with our hands. We will turn the soil in search of all its biodiversity, from the living criatures, to the chemical component such as phosphorus, nitrogen and potassium, among others.

After getting our hands dirty, we will  plant trees and perform other tasks linked to soil and carbon and thus understand the potential gains of capturing C02 that each individual act entails, comparing it with simple forms of C02 emissions produced by our family vehicles.

SCHOOL PROGRAMMES

Our main goal, as well as schools, is to increase the potential of all children by giving them new and challenging experiences while they are with us.

We provide fun outdoor activities, including academic and educational aspects, as a continuation of school and family work

Today, we are the first company world wide to join FUN and LEARN in one concept.!

We have also committed ourselves to the United Nations goals for 2020 – 2030, a commitment focused on saving the planet and contributing to a better tomorrow.

Campo Aventura offers in its programs the following modules: ENERGY, AQUA, FOOD, BUILD & LAND that can be integrated in thematic and adventure programs.

FUN & LEARN are now the new paradigm.

Each and every one of our activities has a major purpose, an academic and personal meaning!

We help students to understand their own strengths and limitations, identify goals and devising strategies for personal growth and, through group challenges, we help to develop group spirit in each participant.

Our activities give them a big sense of awareness of themselves as being part of a community with self responsibilities towards others, and also towards the environment.
